Heavenly Father, we give You praise and honor, for You are the source of all that is good, true and just.

We thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to show us the way to make Your wish for us a reality. We also thank You for continuing to send Your Holy Spirit to sanctify, strengthen and empower us.

You have called Your people into an awesome partnership with You to be stewards of the earth and co-creators of life. So, too, does Jesus, our Savior, call us to discipleship and to be witnesses to Him to the very ends of the earth, especially by our love for You and for our neighbor.

Father, embarking upon a new millennium and beyond, we are honored and privileged to be among those whom You have called. We reaffirm our pledge to live as Jesus taught us. We invoke the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to fulfill this pledge, people of faith saying "Yes" to God.

As always, our prayer is in the name of Jesus, who reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Amen.
